GOAGS ('81 Set) Elects New Executive Committee
The 1981 set of old students of Gbongan/Odeomu Anglican Grammar School (GOAGS) has elected a new Executive Committee to lead the union for the next two years.
The election took place during the Biennial Reunion Party held on Saturday at the Senior Staff Club of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The occasion was attended by members of the union, invited guests, and representatives of the 1982 and 1983 sets.
The National President of GOAGS Old Students Association, Mr. Jide Iyanda, was also present and praised the outgone executive members for their diligence and exemplary performances.
The immediate-past Chairman of the '81 Set, Mr. Segun Kolade, highlighted the achievements of his executive team, including the provision of whiteboards for the school and cash presentations to the families of deceased members.
The event also featured a donation of books to the school by the '81 set, which was received by the school Principal, Mr. Adesanmi.
The Principal commended the set for their regular support to the school, saying "The 1981 set has always been a source of support to the school, and we are grateful for their generosity."
The newly-elected executive committee members were sworn in, and the Chairman, Engineer Dokun Ige, promised to build on the solid foundation laid by the previous committee.
The new executive committee comprises of Engr. Dokun Ige - Chairman, Mrs. Eunice Adedeji - Vice Chairman, Mr. Samba Yusuf - Secretary, Mr. Femi Salami - Treasurer, Mr. Kayode Agbaje - Chief Whip, Mr. Foluso Malomo - Public Relations Officer, Mr. Segun Kolade - Ex-officio, and Pastor Kola Oyedokun - Ex-officio.
The election and swearing-in ceremony marked a new chapter for the GOAGS ('81 Set) and promised a continuation of the union's good works.
