OSUN FIRST LADY BOOSTS EDUCATION SECTOR WITH 60,000 FREE EXERCISE BOOKS

The First Lady of Osun State, Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke, has flagged off the distribution of 60,000 free exercise books to public secondary schools across the state.

The event, held at the Local Government Service Commission hall in Abere, was attended by education stakeholders and officials from the Ministry of Education.

In her remarks, Mrs Adeleke reaffirmed the state government's commitment to prioritizing education as a foundation for sustainable development and a better future.

She emphasized the importance of education in shaping the lives of students and the future of the state.

The exercise books, donated by the office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with the office of the First Lady of Osun State, aim to assist parents in meeting the writing material needs of their wards.

The initiative is part of the state government's efforts to make education more accessible and affordable for all.

The State Commissioner of Education, Hon Dipo Eluwole, praised the governor's records in the education sector and acknowledged the stellar efforts of the First Lady in supporting education in the state.

Also in attendance were the Osun PTA Chairman, Mr Fadare Moshood, and the Principal of Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo, Mrs Folake Oketunji, who lauded the government's gesture.

The ceremony culminated in the symbolic presentation of exercise books to representatives of students from schools across the state.

The event was also graced by officials from the Ministry of Education, including Hon Teniola Lanlehin, Special Adviser on Education, Mr Muritala Jimoh, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Directors, Zonal and Local Inspectors, Principals, Parents, and Students from public schools across the state.

The distribution of exercise books is expected to benefit students in public secondary schools across the state, providing them with necessary learning materials to excel in their studies.

The initiative has been hailed as a significant step towards improving education in Osun State, and a testament to the government's commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
