Abuja High Court Ruling: Prince Awofisayo Calls for Calm
A chieftain of the ruling-All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and member of the Elders' Caucus of the party, Prince Felix Adeyemi Awofisayo has charged all members of the party in the state to remain calm over a recent Abuja High Court ruling nullifying Governor Gboyega Oyetola's party candidature in the July 16 governorship election.
The APC leader gave the charge in a state statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital.
According to him, the court ruling should not be seen as a major setback as the governor's case at the election tribunal continues unhindered.
"I wish to charge our members not to see the recent Abuja High Court ruling as a major setback, as our case at the Election Petition Tribunal continues unhindered," Prince Awofisayo stressed.
The Ile-Ife-born Prince noted that the nation's judiciary remains the last hope of the common man and therefore should at all times live above board in all its activities.
The APC leader therefore assured all party members and Governor Gboyega Oyetola's supporters across the state and beyond to remain steadfast in their resolve, while the party and the governor are on top of the situation and doing the needful.
"I want to use this opportunity to assure all our party members and Governor Gboyega Oyetola's supporters in the state and beyond to remain steadfast in their support, while the party leadership and the governor are on top of the situation," he admonished.
Signed:
Prince Felix Adeyemi Awofisayo
Chairman, APC Elders' Caucus,
Ife Central Local Government.
