OSSIEC TO INAUGURATE VERIFICATION COMMITTEE ON MONDAY

The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) is set to inaugurate a 15-member verification committee on Monday, ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The committee, which will be headed by Alhaji Abdulateef Olayanyu, a retired senior staff of the National Population Commission, will verify the certificates and documents of candidates running for chairmanship and councillorship positions.

Other members of the committee include Mr. Kazeem Adeniyi Olatokun, a retired banker and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, who will serve as co-chairman, and Mrs. Iyabo Olaniyi, a legal practitioner, who will serve as secretary.

The committee will also include representatives from the Osun State Internal Revenue Service and the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

The inauguration will take place at the OSSIEC headquarters in Osogbo on Monday morning.
