Osun Journalists Laud Governor Adeleke's Support, Seek Prompt Employment Letters and Bus Promise Fulfillment

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Osun State Council has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for his support towards the union, particularly the renovation of the NUJ Hall at the Press Centre in Osogbo.

The union appreciated the Governor's approval of permanent employment for some Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) freelance staff, a move that brought relief to many families.

However, the Congress urged the Governor to direct the immediate release of employment letters to the affected staff, noting that it had been over two months since the announcement.

The union also appealed to the Governor to fulfill his promise of a bus for the NUJ Osun State Council, a gesture that would facilitate their activities.

Beyond state issues, the Congress addressed national concerns, calling on the federal government to resolve the minimum wage impasse and work towards economic recovery.

The union emphasized the need for food security, a pressing issue affecting many Nigerian households.

The Congress reaffirmed the importance of a free press in a democratic society, pledging to continue holding leaders accountable.

The union also reiterated its commitment to promoting ethical journalism and upholding the highest standards of the profession.
