NEMA, OSUN GOVT. DONATE RELIEF MATERIALS TO ILE-IFE WINDSTORM DISASTER VICTIMS

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Osun State Government through the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), has donated relief materials to windstorm victims in Ile-Ife to alleviate the effects of the disaster that occurred a few months ago.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency Management,   Honourable Eniola Fakeye made this known during the flag-off ceremony held at Lafogido Ruling House, Otutu Royal House, Otutu Street, Ile-Ife,

Hon. Fakeye expressed gratitude to NEMA for its kind gesture towards the windstorm victims, assuring that the relief materials will significantly mitigate the damages caused by the disaster. While also appreciating the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his concern towards the citizens, especially during this economically challenging period, she  prayed for God's continued protection and success for him and his government.

In his welcome address, the General Manager, Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), Mr. Babajide Falade, also expressed gratitude to the Governor for his resilience and generosity. He then sympathized with the victims for their challenges and losses, assuring them that both NEMA and the State Government are committed to providing support and assistance to alleviate the impacts of the disaster. He also prayed against the reoccurrence of such in the state.

In his remarks, the NEMA Zonal Coordinator for the Southwest, Mr. Olarewaju Kadiri, who prayed that such disasters would not recur  in the state, therefore appreciated the state government for her proactive efforts in disaster management. Mr. Kadiri further highlighted the distributed relief items to include rice, beans, cassava flakes, clothes, and other essentials to give succour to the victims.

In his vote of thanks, His Royal Majesty, Onife Gunwa of Ifegunwa, Oba Adewole Adedire was also full of appreciation to NEMA and OSEMA for the donation and prayed for God's continued protection over them in all their endeavors. The Kabiyesi then assured that the items distributed would be used judiciously.

One of the beneficiaries, Prince Adebowale Alade, on behalf of other victims thanked the Governor for ameliorating their sufferings and pain, praying that God Almighty would elevate him to greater heights.
