Osun S B C Technical Group Takes Advocacy Visit To CCC HQs in Osogbo ......Sensitizes Mothers, Care Givers On Family Planning,Other PHC Services

The executive members of Osun State Behavioral Change Technical Group (a creation of The Challenge Initiative which domiciles in Osun PHCDB), again took its advocacy to the Celestial Church of Christ headquarters in Osogbo  where nursing mothers including their husbands and other caregivers were sensitized  on family planning, exclusive breastfeeding and other PHCDB services.

 

Secretary of the Committee who doubles as Osun State Health Promotion Officer, Mrs Taiwo Adeniji, urged the nursing mothers to embrace healthy practises while charging their hubbies to always give necessary support to their wives, especially while nursing babies, saying this will immensely contribute to the healthy growth needs of the child.

Earlier, the chairperson of the committee who is also member of the church, Mrs Janet Williams had informed the church about the purpose of the visit which bothers on sensitisation about maternal child health and all other health issues.

The Health  Officer for Olorunda Local Government, Mrs Kemi Adeeyo charged the nursing mothers and the care givers present never to ignore information about healthcare of the people, stressing that this remains the potent way to bring up healthy leaders of tomorrow.

 Mrs Kemi Adeeyo also laid emphasis on breastfeeding for the first six months of life, nutrition, family planning, hygiene among others. Mr Gideon Adegboye, the Vice Chairman Vice Chairman of the committee was also present at the advocacy visit to the church.
