Agriculture : 𝙊𝙨𝙪𝙣 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙮, 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

Women have been encouraged to venture more actively in agriculture as a way to generate sustainable income, be self sufficient and contribute significantly to the development of economy by improving local and national food security. 

This call was made by the First Lady of Osun, Chief Mrs Titilola Adebusola Adeleke today at the local government service commission multipurpose hall, state secretariat, Abere while distributing cheques of N500,000 each to twenty (20) beneficiaries of Women Farmers Support Programme, an intervention of the "Renewed Hope Initiative" from the office of the First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in collaboration with the office of the Osun state First Lady. 

Mrs Adeleke while congratulating the beneficiaries drawn from different local government of the state, implored them to make best use of this grant by investing resourcefully and productively in agriculture, noting that the programme will be in phases and the next will favour another 80 women from Osun state to boost food production. 

 

Adeleke reiterated the commitment of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu aimed at lifting women above the poverty line through series of empowerment programmes which have favoured many lives impactfully, underscoring the importance of the grant as one that will boost food security. Beneficiaries are women farmers who ventured practicably in animal husbandry, poultry and fish farming with verifiable farms settlement locations across the state.

Speaking earlier at the event, Hon. Olaniran Akanfe Atidade, Special Adviser to the Governor Adeleke on Agriculture praised the initiative as one that will address grey areas like lack of fund and will motivates women into practicable agriculture. 

Speaking at the occasion, Alhaja Ibrahim Raji, Osun state coordinator, Nigeria Association of Women in Agriculture also emphasized the importance of beneficiaries to make judicious use which will in turn make them reach their  potentials by expanding their farming entrepreneurship. 

Mrs Olaoye Abiodun, a beneficiary who spoke on behalf of others expressed her gladness for the gesture. She posited that this will impact their production in no small measure. She however applaud Senator Remi Tinubu and Mrs Titilola Adeleke, praying that God grant unto them more divine grace to benefits humanity more.

The event climaxed by the distribution of cheques to beneficiaries by the Osun state First Lady, Mrs Titilola Adeleke, assisted by Hon Olaniran Atidade and Mrs Monisade Awotunde. Other functionaries present were wives of the Commissioners ably represented by Mrs Adeleke Olunike and Mrs Naimot Alimi and wives of the local government chairmen across the state.
