Insecurity: Community Plans To Takeover of All Abandoned Buildings

The traditional council of Gbongan, headquarters of Ayedaade Local Government Council Area of Osun State has decided to take-over all abandoned buildings across the ancient town with a view to converting them to public property.
This latest development, according to an insider source within the council is to stem the tide of insecurity pervading the town in recent times.

The source further revealed that some of the abandoned buildings have become hideouts for criminals wreaking havoc on the ancient town.

"The traditional council of Gbongan just rose from its recent meeting held to stem the tide of criminal activities which have been on increase in recent times.

"Most of the abandoned buildings have become hideouts for the criminals who have been wreaking havoc on our community," the source stressed further.

The Council has therefore called on all owners of abandoned buildings in the town to urgently let out their properties to would-be tenants to forestall total take-over by the council.

The council also used the occasion to charge all men and officers of the various security arms to rise to the occasion and ensure security of lives and property of residents of the town.
