TOURISM: Osun NIESV Collaborates Govt On Development, Revenue Generation

The Osun Branch of Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers NIESV has collaborated the state government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke on tourism development and revenue generation.
This is as the association through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism highlighted its targets which will support the potentials of Osun state tourist centres, thereby increasing the Internally Generated Revenue from the mapped locations.

The above was disclosed by the Osun NIESV Chairman, ESV Adekunle Adedoye at the courtesy call paid to the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon Bankole Ojo in his office at the government secretariat.

Adedoye who emphasized the roles of Estate Surveyors and Valuers particularly in real estate, added that the professionals are set to consolidate on facility management for the government at the tourists hub in local governments across the state.

He mentioned that aside Osun groove Osogbo, the state can generate revenue from Ayinkunugba Water-fall, Owala Dam, Olumirin Water-fall among others, adding that the Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers is ready in its multiple function of collaborating, patronizing and supporting the government to generate revenue through tourism, an action which will aide the government in delivery of infrastructure to the people.

The Osun NIESV association asserted that the sustenance of the facilities will be on coordination, supervision, and consistent monitoring, which will boost development as well as attract investors into the tourism sector of Osun state.

In his remarks, the commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon Bankole Ojo applauded the readiness of NIESV, while reiterating that Osun government is also ready to harness sectors that will lift development and deliver good governance to the good people of Osun state, through provision of infrastructures and policies.

He added that the essence of Osun groove land is for the natural habitat to be maintained, added that the other sites in the state needs facilities that will improve access, such as good road network and security, stressed that the work will commence on the area of concern for visibility to the people.


The Tourism Commissioner commended the association for being positive about the state, he added that the present government is Osun oriented, stated that everything about the state is about Osun stakeholders who are passionate about the development of the state.

Hon Ojo, who accepted the collaboration with the Osun state chapter of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers NIESV, added that the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke is ready for private partnership cooperation that will lift the state to enviable height.
The courtesy call of the Osun NIESV to the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism was graced by former and present executives of the state which include, Fellow of the institution, ESV Sikiru Aremu Adewuyi, immediate past Chairman ESV Segun Fasiku, Vice Chairman ESV Sola Adebiyi, ESV Damilare Olajide, ESV Grace Adedayo, ESV Sadiat Salaam, and ESV Julius Ayowole among others.
