Rural Devt. Commissioner Eulogizes Gov. Adeleke For Keeping Osun Safe

Governor Ademola Adeleke has been eulogized for his pro- activeness in  ensuring that Osun retains its position as the safest state in Nigeria.

Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon . Gani Olaoluwa gave the commendation while declaring open a one day workshop for unconventional security groups  in the State.
The workshop which  held at the State Development Centre, Abere,afforded the  Commissioner the opportunity to  explain the rationale behind the workshop.

 With the  theme  "Security Consciousness and Crime Prevention/Distribution of Essential Working Tools" Hon.OlaOluwa said it was put together to enable the  groups understand the nitty gritty of efficient and effective community policing, so as to sanitise the society from disgruntled elements. 

In their separate lectures, Retired AIG, Olafimihan Adeoye and a security expert, Mr Olatidoye Gbadegesin, contended that security of lives and property is a responsibility of all for the total safety of the society.

The duo enjoined the attendees of the workshop  to always endeavour to  complement the painstaking  efforts of security agencies at preventing people from taking laws into their hands and ensuring that lives and properties are secured.
 
Also speaking , the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr, Oladapo Fashina advised the  non-state actors, such as the vigilante groups and local hunters to replicate the State Government's gesture by passing the knowledge garnered at the workshop to their colleagues in their respective LGAs.

Reacting  separately,  the Oluode of Osogbo land, Chief Okeloye Tajudeen  and  Commandant of the Vigilante group in Osun,Mr Bello  Aderemi while appreciating the good works  of Senator Adeleke in the state,  pleaded with him to accord the local hunters their rightful place in the scheme of things in order to give them a sense of  belonging.
    He told the governor the imperativeness of getting VGN members employed just  like the  Western  NigerianSecurity Network,popularly   known as Amotekun with good renumeration for optimum performance.

Highlight of the program was the distribution of essential working tools for effective service delivery
