Governor of Niger state, Umaru Mohammad, has pointed out that the exceptional leadership skills and commitment to public service of Senator Ajibola Basiru are instrumental in his choice as the National Secretary of All Progressive Congress, APC.

Governor Umaru Mohammad in a congratulatory letter he personally signed also alluded to Senator Basiru's extensive educational background his being two-time commissioner and former chairman Senate Committee in NGOs as well as being former chairman, Senate Committee on media and public Affairs as strong exemplification of his vast experience and knowledge in critical areas.

Niger state's helmsman emphasized that Senator Ajibola Basiru's tenure as the National Secretary of the party will certainly be marked with  unwavering dedication to the party's ideals, principles and objections with a view to fostering unity in the party.
