Osun NAWOJ, A Front line Advocates of Women, Children, PWDs - Says Oluomo Kolapo Alimi

Osun state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has hailed the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Osun chapter, describing them as essential front line advocates for women, children and persons with disability.

Accordingly, Oluomo Alimi reiterated the determination of Governor Ademola Adeleke to provide impactful intervention programmes for them to further make their impacts felt more and more in the discharge of their duties as females in the pen profession.

The Information and Public Enlightenment Commissioner made these known during a courtesy visit paid on him by the Executives of Osun chapter of the NAWOJ led by its Chairperson, Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo.

Addressing the female journalists, the Information Commissioner, who described life as a stage from infancy to adulthood, maintained that everyone in Osun state is important to Governor Adeleke, hence his display of due concern towards all, devoid of any sentiment.

While pointing out that the female gender is indispensable, he commended Osun NAWOJ for being the voice of the voiceless in the state. He further sought their full support to the Ademola Adeleke led administration with a pledge that the government is prepared to provide developmental programmes across the state for the benefit of Osun people.

In her remarks, the Osun NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for the appointment of Oluomo Kolapo Alimi as the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, describing him as the right person for the job in addition to being a friend of journalists in the state.

She also commended Governor Adeleke for the many laudable developmental programmes he has embarked upon since his emergence as the Governor of Osun state.
