Gov Adelekes' Government Will Not Bamboozle Osun People - Information Commissioner, Alimi

In line with delivery of good governance that will aide development and growth in the state, it has been stated that Governor Ademola Adelekes government will not bambooze the good people of Osun.

This is as transparency was declared as the watchword for the present administration which had hit the ground running with good works for the benefit of the populace.

The disclosure was made by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi during a live broadcast show with Femi Olanipekun on 'Frank Talk' monitored on Friday.

Speaking on his appointment by Gov Ademola Adeleke as Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Alimi said his being a learned person will aide his duties as the mouthpiece of the government.

He described capacity as the root for efficiency and service delivery, adding that the Government of Ademola Adeleke will accept constructive criticism, but won't accept ramble rouser.

Speaking on the eight months in office of Gov Adeleke, Oluomo Alimi stated that the present administration has started well and has done a lot, saying that is why people voted for him and his party, People's Democratic Party at the General Elections.

Maintaining that Gov Ademola Adeleke is a goal getter who took time to choose his cabinet members, he said the appointees won't derail but perform as expected, adding that the size and structure of the state was considered in selecting and appointing the Commissioners and others for the delivery of good governance to the people.

Still talking about capability, he described the government of Ademola Adeleke as one that is frugal and not flamboyant, opining that the appointees will be accountable, he urged the people to understand that the portfolios was giving to the appointees based on their background experience and not just for political reasons.

According to him, if you are capable and put in charge of an office, it will be easy for you to deliver and make impacts within months, the work of a Commissioner is administrative, and such will work with career heads of the different agencies of government in their various ministries for good delivery in the interest of the people.

Oluomo Alimi speaking further on the appointment of immediate family of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, added that the government of Ademola Adeleke did not go overboard to appoint the wife and son of the late former Gov Isiaka Adeleke, rather he did the appointment based on people's desire that his legacy should not be forgotten, because he was alive, he could have been the governor at present.

He said Governor Ademola Adeleke was transparent with the appointment because he wants the people to know what he is doing and he wants the micro family and the whole world to know that the legacy of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke is not forgotten.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment also spoke on salary arrears and gratuities, which he said part of it has been fulfilled, and that the promise to pay more subsist, he added that because Governor Ademola Adeleke is a passionate man who believes in the welfare of people, he will not renegade on his promise to pay the arrears, unlike the former government who lied to the people by not paying the accrued half salary owed by his predecessor.

Talking about politics, he stated that former Governor Rauf Aregbesola is his benefactor for life, said politics should not be a barrier to relationships, adding that a politician must be able to reflect on his or her action which could be negative or positive, pointing out that the way late Gov Isiaka was treated was a decision factor for him to join camp with Governor Ademola Adeleke.

"I followed my heart and here we are today, I am a man of my words and I am for this government, therefore I will work for the success of this government - Commissioner Alimi stated.
