Eid: Osun Progressive Union apologizes to Sen Adeleke, Grand Imaam of Osogbo

The Osogbo Progressive Union (OPU) has apologized to the state Governor of Osun, Ademola Adeleke, over the incident that occurred during the Muslim Festival at the Oke-Baale Eid praying ground.

The Union stated that the incident was embarrassing and however, condemned the act totally.

This was made known in a statement made available to press men by the National PRO of the Union, Fatai Bolarinwa.

It read in part, “The information reaching the Union is that the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke had to leave the central praying ground in annoyance without observing the rakat prayer. This is highly embarrassing and uncalled for.

“The Osogbo Progressive Union hereby apologize to our amiable Governor for the embarrassment and as well appreciate his maturity in handling the situation. We also apologize to the Grand Imaam of Osogbo for the disturbance.

“The union is not blaming any individual or group but appealing to our politicians and their supporters to tread softly and sheath their swords. They should allow Osun state to enjoy the peace she deserves.”
