Sen Basiru Appreciates Genuine Members, Leaders in Osun APC ..holds thanksgiving reception on exit from red chamber...

Distinguished Senator Dr Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru who represented Osun Central at the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have expressed his appreciation to genuine members of All Progressives Congress APC party in Osun state.

This is as he also extended his appreciation to Former Osun Governors: Chief Bisi Akande and Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, Oba Gboyega Famodun (Former APC state Chairman), Chief Akinwunmi; Chairman Elders Council Osun APC and leaders across the state, particularly in Osun Central for the purposeful leadership and support.

Senator Ajibola Basiru who also thanked his family for their support, gave gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and encouragement, said his achievements in the Senate during the last 4 years was based on the support he got, and it is highly appreciated.

The Senator who was the Spokesperson for the 9th Assembly made this known at the thanksgiving reception on his exit from red chamber, and Press Conference organized by members of his constituents, held at his constituency office in Osogbo on Wednesday. 

According to him, "all exits invariably translates to new beginnings, my exit from the Senate has surely provided other opportunities for me to explore other frontiers for personal and professional development; political advancement and dedication to public service in other capacities."

Dr Basiru, popularly called SRJ listed his achievements based on qualitative representation, which ranges from human capital development: training and empowerment in agriculture, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, employment of beneficiaries into sectors of the state and country, as well as career fair for empowerment of undergraduates.

The other areas of his intervention was infrastructural development such as provision of solar lights, electrification, boreholes projects, construction of classroom blocks and maternity centers, road grading and rehabilitation, alongside construction of Entrepreneurship Development Center at Awosuru area of Osogbo.

Senator Basiru at the program sang praises to God for being with him in the journey of serving as Osun Senator at the National Assembly, he also commended members of the executive councils of APC, from wards to local governments and state level.

He particularly thanked people of Osogbo and towns/communities in Osun central for standing by him in his tenure, just as he gave kudos to his technical team in Abuja and Osogbo for working tirelessly and performing excellently.

Fielding questions from the Pressmen, he stated that he doesn't regret his exit from the Senate, that every step a man takes in life is as ordained by God, he pointed his ye to be fulfilled wish for Osun people on the Federal Medical Center Osogbo, which was yet to be approved by the Representatives, he used the medium to call on the Osogbo member of the opposition party to follow up and being to fulfilment, the Medical Center for the benefit of Osogbo populace.

While talking on reconciliation with factions in the party, he said "Osun APC is not fighting anyone, so no need for reconciliation, our aim now is repositioning of the party, and we thank Osun people for voting our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President with 348,000 votes, he called for more support for PBAT, added that 2026 Governorship is almost here and we must reclaim our mandate - he stated to the APC members at the gathering.

Answering questions relating to former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Ajibola Basiru said "Aregbesola was my leader, but I don't know which party he belonged to for now, because the incumbent Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke publicly said he got his mandate with the help of Aregbesola."

Earlier at the program, the Party leadership, Senatorial Women leader and the youth leader in their separate goodwill messages applauded Senator Dr Ajibola Basiru for being a worthy ambassador at the Senate.

They eulogized his various constituency projects which they said is beneficial to the people, and they also assured him of continued support, as they prayed and thanked God for returning him safely back to the state of the virtuous.

The thanksgiving reception on exit from red chamber and Press Conference program was graced by All Progressives Congress APC Party Leaders, State Executives, Ward Excos, embers of the party and Iyaloja General for South West, Alhaja Asindemade and her association members, among others.
