Osun NIPR Industry Awards won by Orangun Oke-Ila, Olowu Kuta, DCG Adeniyi, Ex Osun REC, Prof Labo Popoola, others

The 2023 Industry Awards of the Osun state Chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations NIPR, presented Royal Fathers, Security Heads, Business Guru, Legal Luminary, Scholars, Media Professionals and others as winners of this year edition.

The Osun NIPR Industry Awards was won by recipients which include, HRM Oba (Dr) Adedokun Abolarin, Aroyinkeye 1, Orangun of Oke-Ila, HRM Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude Olowu of Kuta, DCG Wale Adeniyi MFR FNIPR, former Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Abdulganiy Raji, a UNIOSUN VC, Prof Labode Popoola, CEO Rave FM/WSTV Dr Femi Adefila, and Osun Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola.

Others are Director General, Osun state Broadcasting Corporation Mr Rasheed Folaranmi, CEO Bovas Dr Victoria Samson, Mallam Yusuf Ali SAN, Spokesperson to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Mr Ismail Omipidan, former Osun NIPR Chairmen Dr Wale Oyekanmi (OSCOTECH), and Alhaji Adebisi Popoola, Dr Rasheed Adebiyi (Fountain University Osogbo), Toba Adedaramola PRO BOWEN University and Gbenga Faminu PRO OSBC.

The awards which were graded on impact, service to humanity, professional discharge, consistency and contribution to the development of the society held at the open forum of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation in Osogbo on Saturday.

In his welcome Address, Osun NIPR Chairman, Ademola Adesoji pointed out that the special dignitaries selected were found worthy in character and their contribution to the society in their various status, said their good works were recognized through their organizations.

Stating that the next edition is in year 2024, will also follow the path of professionalism, accountability, good character and integrity.

In his lecture titled, The Roles of Public Relations Practitioner, the PRO Obafemi Awolowo University, Mr Biodun Olanrewaju described Public Relations Officers as image makers and reputation builders of their various organizations.

He emphasized that using Public Relations strategy to build the image of organizations helps the society to see the institution in good light, added that each organization uses its own strategy to manage it's organization and to influence the society.

Speaking further he maintained that with Public Relations, organizations are able to influence their domicile community, adding that PROs are approachable, jovial, attentive and hard working personnel with large network, who are always alert to the activities and image of their principals, institutions, or organizations.

At the Industry Awards ceremony which also aired virtually, Mr Olanrewaju reiterated that any one who must become Public Relations Officers or Managers of any organization must be reputable, and be registered members of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations NIPR.

On behalf of the awardees, the Orangun of Oke-Ila HRM Oba Adedokun Abolarin Aroyinkeye 1 applauded Osun NIPR for recognizing the gestures of the selected awards, he described it as a call to do more in their various cadre.

Oba Abolarin citing the scripture urged all not to be discouraged to believe in Nigeria, and work towards it's development, "Nigeria is blessed, this is our own Jerusalem, Nigeria shall be Great - he stated.

The Osun Nigeria Institute of Public Relations Industry Awards 2023 was attended by dignitaries from sectors of the state, friends and members of the NIPR among others.
