Shun Partisan Politics, Oṣùn NSCDC Boss Charges Personnel
As preparations for February 25 and March 11 general elections are on top gear, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has successfully trained Area Commanders, Divisional  Officers, heads of departments and units on election duties. This is in line with the vision of Commandant General,  Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni , OFR  to strengthen the operational efficiency of the personnel of the Corps ahead of general elections.

Speaking at the training, the NSCDC State Commandant, Commandant Sunday Agboola, said the election training aimed at establishing standard operating procedure   for security personnel on election duty, hence the need to keep personnel well informed of their constitutional roles, during the forthcoming general elections. 

Commandant Agboola also emphasized on the need to engage with other security agencies, noting that all security agencies are involved in the exercise. "The Nigeria Police Force is the lead agency, as far as elections is concerned in the country. We need interagency collaboration. Everyone is working towards a common goal, which is for the election to be free, fair and credible," the State Commandant said.

 "Let me remind you again that you must maintain  neutrality, be apolitical, be civil, approachable and discharge your duties with high degree of professionalism. Be firm and respect human rights," Commandant Agboola advised

The Osun NSCDC boss also explained further that Nigerians are looking forward to security apparatus to ensure a peaceful conduct of general elections. It, therefore, means that all hands must be on deck  to justify the confidence reposed in NSCDC by members of the public.
He, also, gave a marching orders to Area Commanders, Divisional officers and heads of departments and units who were participants at the training to cascade the election training exercise to their subordinates, as the Corps is leaving no stone unturned to achieve a peaceful conduct of 2023 elections.
