G 21 (OSUN NETWORK) INDUCTION OF GRASSROOT MEMBERS RESONATES IN IFE EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AS HON. ADETONA SIKIRU AYEDUN HOSTS THE ACTIVITIES

Members of the G 21 (Osun Network) a famous Osun Socio – Political group who profess the  bridging of gap of welfare inequality between the leaders and followers in the party politics as one of their vision & missions;  continued in their  induction of grassroot  volunteer members this day. 

This propitious occasion  came up at Ife East Local Government in the country home of former commissioner for Home Affairs, Culture & Tourism, Hon. Sikiru Ayedun @ Olu Babajide, Oranfe Layout, Ile– Ife. 

This glorious group had witnessed the dwindling activities of the grassroots structure that often determine the outcome of election and had vowed its resuscitation when their party  (APC) lost the July 16, 2022 Gubernatorial election to the opposition. This inaugural inductions has been perpetually done  gradually across the Local Governments in Osun without minding the fractionalisation the immediate past APC government political apartheid, has created in the situation.

After the arrival of the grassroots volunteer members, the members of the G 21 to the premises of their host, it wasn't a long time when they swung into the agenda of the day. The general introduction of G21 had earlier been done when the Secretary, the President, and the Chairman of Omoluabi progressive in attendance in the area addressed the congregants. It wasn't a surprise after all the quality of speech rendered to the admiration of the crowd by the host who  held the congregation spell bound with his oratorical presentation. 

It was a great lecture by Hon. Prince Sikiru Ayedun which delved into how the struggle to wrestle power from the PDP started in April, 16, 2005. This was when "Oranmiyan came for the redemption of Osun" ; as it was the slogan then. 

He said most of the people who were not in the struggle who they worked for to pass the baton of governance to, later took the position for granted as they sidelined their messiah who midwifed the Government by putting their own political upstart there and thereby losing the election in the process. 

He said the theatre of absurdity came after the dint of hard work noticed by all and sundary in his boss Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the architect of modern Osun was disparaged  and his ministerial nomination also was refused by the immediate past Governor and his principal before the President Muhammad  Buhari had to pick his boss's nomination himself. This miracle was either through the harvest of his reward or through his relationship with Providence and his God. He said about 4.2 million population of Osun, 80% of people who are not even politicians are the great supporter of his boss up to this present days

He said so many people lost so many things while struggling to give the baton of government to the immediate past Governor who sidelined them, one of which is the Hilux Jeep he lost to the struggle, not to talk of the contribution of other party stalwarts who had suffered in cash and in kind for the entrenchment of progressive governance through the immediate past Governor.

7tt1iQuoting the Quran and the Holy Bible profusely he said proverbially that 

"The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Psalm 34 –: 10" . He said "the   harvest time of the members who remain steadfast are coming in the new political dispensation, it is those whose loyalty are not questionable that will reap the political reward that are coming in the firmament", he posited. After his long speech he coordinated along with the members of G 21, the inauguration of the new members who sang the mandatory jígbk Omandate song. 9

The atmosphere later turned into the beehive of political soun ngs singing and panoramic activities as the sumptuous food and drink were served to cap the long day political activities. All the members later thank their host for making the occasion a glorious and a day to remember for them.
