Alhaji Muniru Adebayo Raji have been described as an hindrance to Osogbo development, with his falsehood of saying that developmental projects facilitated by the Senator representing Osun Central, Ajibola Basiru will not go through.

This was disclosed by an apolitical group in Osogbo, The Oroki Elites Group who called on Osogbo stakeholders, sons and daughters across the globe to appeal to Alhaji Muniru Adebayo Raji to stop constituting clog in the wheel of development of the state capital. 

The Oroki Elites revealed that the lack of access constituted to the flag off of reconstruction of Oja Oba road on Monday by Senator Ajibola Basiru who mobilized his supporters for the flag off, where they met some armed policemen who demanded for “approval to do the road, was facilitated by Muniru Raji, an action they said was totally uncalled for and not in the interest of the people.”

Shortly after the senator and his people left, Raji was sighted at the venue where he told the market women that "the APC Senator has no right to fix the road since his party has left government."

In a Press Conference in Osogbo on Tuesday, spokesperson of the Group, Dr Akeem Deji Adetunji accused Muniru Raji of mobilizing thugs to disrupt the Oja Oba road project flag off, and in the process of  chasing the contractor away, some of his equipment were also carted away by the hoodlums.

Adetunji said the 500m road, which have been awarded by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for immediate rehabilitation, was last touched 34 years ago.

According to him, “This said road have been awarded by Federal Ministry of Agriculture with appropriated funds in the 2022 budget already released to the Contractor!"

"Distinguished Senator Dr Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru had to cut short his trip to United Kingdom and rushed down to Osogbo for this necessary flag off on Monday 9th January 2023 for the benefit of development to the good people of Osogbo, "Adetunji said.

"We wish to call on Osogbo indigenes home and in the diaspora to please prevail on Alhaji Muniru Raji who assumed an arguably high status in government with authority to stop the habit of setting Osogbo against itself. Baba Muniru Raji is few years away from age 70 and at such age as an Osogbo Father to a serving 50 year-old Senator, he should be fortifying the nuclear charge of developmental nucleus of SRJ!"

“Please and please help us appeal to Alhaji Muniru Adebayo Raji. We will not like a situation where the Senator will be forced to move this project perhaps to other community where political hostility is not embraced!”

Reading their demands, the Oroki Elites Group called on the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Patrick Kehinde Longe and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to provide security for the contractor and its  workers on the site till completion of project.

“We equally advise the sponsors of Muniru Adebayo Raji to prevail on him to desist from ignoble act of undermining and hindering the development Osogbo.

Similarly, Oroki Elites Group enjoins stakeholders, sons and daughters of Osogbo to continue to support Senator Ajibola Basiru on his reelection agenda in the upcoming 2023 election.
