HFDI Starts Community Infant and Young Child Feeding support groups in Akwa Ibom

Sequel to the training on nutrition fir infants and young child feeding, Hope For Family Development Initiatives have started community infant and young child Feeding support groups.

The formation of the support group was in Ikotekang community were a total of 8 person started the group which will be built on.

 The facilitator Eleodimuo Uche, HFDI Community Mobilization Officer Program talked on Nutrition in pregnancy and breastfeeding, she explained the objectives behind the formation of such group. 

Uche emphasized on the importance of eating balanced and nutritious foods during pregnancy and breastfeeding and urged the participants to access local available foods. 

Participants who were Husbands in the group were encouraged to support their wives and mothers at home and also spread these information in their communities .

Leveraging on Mother and Child Health week in the month of November, she informed the group of the activities that cuts across immunization, distribution of vitamins, and Nutrition which emphasizes on healthy and nutritious meal for pregnant women and young child. 
She pointed out that supplementation of Micronutrients for pregnant women and malnourished children are also important, reiterated that HFDI will continue to mobilize pregnant caregivers and beneficiaries to access such services.
