GBV: HFDI Takes Sensitization To Markets in Osun

Hope for Family Development Initiatives HFDI have taken End Gender Based Violence campaign to markets in Osun state.

The Markets sensitization of women and other users of the market, on end violence was part of the activity to mark the 16-Day Activism ongoing globally.

The campaign which is on day 5
started around 10am in the morning at Igbona main market in Osogbo, the state capital, where it attracted the market women executives who joined the HFDI team to sensitize the whole  market, that an end be put to gender based violence.

 The Iyaloja of Igbona market, Iya'fin Abibatu who also joined the team, in her words said, "Gender Based Violence is barbaric and could lead to death, she moved against it and also urged other market women and users to go against gender based violence in its different forms."

She encouraged the women not to hold back in silence, but to voice out whenever, women/girls victims are abused in any community in the state.
Also, the Hope For Family Development Initiatives HFDI Monitoring and Evaluation Officer,  Miss Abimbola Odeniyi encouraged the women not to let female education end in the kitchen, she enlightened the market women on the advantages of communication with their young girls, and other females.

At the market where the HFDI displayed banners preaching End-Gender-Based-Violence she informed the market women and users to seek help, by contacting the organization on any GBV matter, saying that HFDI, an humanitarian and non governmental organization has the objective of protecting women and the girl child against forms of Gender Based Violence. 

The End-GBV campaign is scheduled to hold in other major markets in Osun state.
