There Is More To Sport - SRJ

Senator Ajibola Basiru of Osun Central Senatorial District has urged the young and the old to incorporate physical exercises into their daily routine for a healthier life.

The Senator gave the advice at the Flagg off of the maiden Draught Competition he is sponsoring. The debut will be taking place in the four Federal Constituencies of Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu.

Senator Basiru observed that indoor and outdoor games and sports help greatly in building body and the mind. 

"I go with the saying that 'men sana in corporeal sano'  that is a sound mind lives in a sound body. We continue to keep our organs particularly heart healthy with physical sports and train our minds and as well nip mental stress in the bud with games such as draught. 

This is a call to everybody regardless of age and status, there is more to sports."

The Senator disclosed that the competition will equally be taken to Ifelodun and Ila Federal Constituencies to produce three champions from which the overall winner will be crowned.

Coordinator of the Game Mr Rahman Adetunji and a lover of the game, Engineer Bello Ajisafe thanked Senator Ajibola Basiru for looking in the direction of Draught saying fans of the game have been yearning for a competition like that.

Curtains will be brought down on the competition which kicked off today in Osogbo Federal Constituency on the 11th of this month.
