Akire of Ikire-Ile urges Muslims to imbibe teachings of Eid El Kabir

A prominent traditional ruler in Osun State, the Akire of Ikire-Ile, Oba Abdulazees Olatunbosun Adebamiji has charged Muslims to imbibe the teachings of Eid El Kabir, which he said centres on sacrifices.

In his salah message, the monarch stressed the need for Muslims to make sacrifices like Ibrahim did, which culminated in the Eid El Kabir which is now celebrated all over the world annually.

He said "both Ibrahim and his son, Ismael were able to demonstrate in clear terms that God loves and stands by whoever calls and relies on Him at all times, and that God does not wish for any hardship for His true servants. 

"A true Muslim must take home all relevant lessons from today's Eidul Adhah celebrations. The fear of God is the best form of wisdom.

"I hereby wish all Muslims, sons,  daughters and residents of Ìkirè Ile, Osun State and Nigeria in general  Eid Mubarak and happy celebrations. May Allah accept our ibaadah, aamiin. 

"All citizens should use the occasion to reflect on the security situation in the country. While praying for peace and rightful directions for Nigeria, we should be more vigilant in our communities to ensure that suspicious persons and movements are promptly reported to security agencies for prompt action. 

"I call on the Federal Government to please resolve the ASUU strike actions at the earliest possible time in the interest of the growth of country. Everyone is losing something as a result of this strike action. I pray for divine wisdom for our President to get the issues resolved amicably. 

"As the gubernatorial election in Osun State is fast approaching, I call on all citizens to please conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.  The electorate should know that no candidate's ambition is worth their blood.

"Parents should counsel their children and ward to eschew violence before,  during and after the polls. 

Once again, I wish all adherents of Islamic faith happy and peaceful celebrations. May we celebrate more of it on earth in sound eemaan and best of health and prosperity," he added.
