Gov. Gboyega Oyetola,Osun Delegates And Prof. Osinbajo: Lessons To Nigerian Politicians

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

To many supporters of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo yesterday, it was politics of intolerance and bitterness taken too far for Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state and Osun state delegates for putting on an Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cap while Osinbajo came on consulting. Though everyone acknowledged the relationship between Oyetola and Tinubu who is also a presidential aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, but expected a level of political maturity from the governor and the delegates but obviously, no one can give what he or she doesn’t have.

What was planned as a form of embarrassment for the Vice President later turned out to be a blessing. It was a blessing as it helped to revealed and showcased the real person and personality Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is, which has since generated unprecedented and overwhelming accolades, praises and commendations from diverse Nigerians across board. While other politicians and their supporters would have turned Osun state political battleground yesterday, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and his supporters turned it to political classroom and lecture theater for those ignorant and lack elementary political principle. PYO and his supporters taught Osun state governor and the delegates the basic and rudiment of politics in the course code POL 101: BASIC POLITICAL ETHICS, PRINCIPLE AND CULTURE

The situation yesterday had since sieved the wheat from the chart and an event that has sent some desperado into political sublimation. With the singular behavior of both Governor Gboyega Oyetola and Osun state delegates yesterday and the displayed of maturity by the Vice President that followed, many Nigerians have come to see and accept Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as a political centripetal force needed at this period to put Nigeria on the central path of sustainable greatness, unity and oneness.

As against the believe by some Nigerians that come 2023, Nigeria needs a tough minded president to tackle the challenges ahead, I dare say that what Nigeria needs is a leader and president of with the right temperament just like what the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo displayed yesterday. The right temperament that addresses every situation rightly. The right temperament that melt heart and give succor, hope and positive expectations to aggrieved souls. This is the nature of temperament Nigeria needs in leadership at this time and not one that would insult and hurt the sensibilities of larger populace in the name of toughness.

To all of us both PYO supporters and Nigerian populace, the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo has taught us great lessons of humility, maturity and tolerance. The best way to preach is by practice which Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has displayed. His constant and consistent call for politics of issues and ideology is now clear not to be just political statement but ideological and believe and also one that defines him. A rare breed of politician in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Come 29th of May, 2022, the APC shall insha Allah (by God’s grace) elect the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo as her presidential flag bearer. This shall be a landmark positive turnaround in the party and Nigeria politics. Come 29th of May, 2023, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo shall insha Allah (by God’s grace) be sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A worthy, credible and preferred successor to his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari and divine mandate to all Nigerians.
