ADELEKE FAMILY SHUNS EDE SOUTH LG OVER UNIVERSITY LAND APPROVAL

The Adeleke political dynasty of Ede in Osun State has dared the authority of Ede South Local Government Council on the approval of land on which Adeleke University stands till date. Investigation by Thirdeyeonline revealed how numerous correspondence between the Town Planning Department of Ede South Local Government Council have till date not yielded any positive results. The medium reliably gathered from credible sources within the local government council how the defacto Vice Chancellor of the University, Mrs Dupe Adeleke-Sanni has turned deaf ears to all appeals by prominent indigenes of the ancient town to get approval for all the buildings contained in their University master plan from relevant departments of the local government council. It was further gathered that both Redeemer University and Adeleke University fall within the jurisdiction of Ede South Local Government Council Area and thereby required by relevant laws to take approvals of their Master plans form the local government. A credible source within the council confided in the medium that while Redeemer University had since complied and made necessary payment even before embarking on any construction on the university's permanent site, Adeleke University in its own case has bluntly refused to comply with the directive. It was gathered that Mrs Adeleke-Sanni, who has been holden fort for her brother and Visitor to the University, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has been rebuffing every effort to make her see reasons why the University must comply with the extant laws guiding the physical development on the University campus. "The De facto Vice Chancellor, Mrs Adeleke-Sanni behaves as if the whole family is above the law, sometimes insulting workers in the University," a source stated. Questions on the lips of all observers of development center on how the family would behave should their brother, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke eventually becomes the governor of Osun State. All efforts to get Mrs Adeleke-Sanni for her comments on the allegations of flagrant disobedience to laws, especially in Ede town proved abortive, as her mobile telephone remains unavailable.
