Osun Assembly summons Auditor General over alleged indictment of college Bursarnews




Osun State House of Assembly has reportedly summoned the state Auditor General, Mr Adesina Folorunso over alleged indictment of the Bursar, Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun, Dr Olarewaju Oyedeji.

The House, it was gathered summoned the Auditor General for allegedly violating its order on the state of affairs of the state college of Education, Ila-Orangun.

It was gathered that the House of Assembly committee on Public Accounts had during its meeting with the management of the college and the Auditor General warned the two parties against public discuss of the state of affairs of the college and allow for peaceful resolution of all issues in the institution.

However, the Auditor General allegedly contravened the directive as he recently issued a statement where he publicly indicted the college Bursar of allegedly misappropriating over #412million.

A member of the House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts who was part of the agreement reached during the meeting confirmed that the Auditor General ran foul of the agreement reached at the meeting.

The lawmaker who is a member of the House Committee on Public Accounts revealed that the House had summoned the Auditor General to appear before the House Committee on Public Accounts on Monday for violating the agreement reached with the parties.

He said the leadership of the House was worried with the manner at which the Auditor General contravened its position, adding that the House would take a position on the matter when he appears on Monday.

"We had an agreement to ensure peaceful resolution of the matter affecting the state college of Education, Ila-Orangun and warned all the parties involved to keep mute on the issue till the House make its report on the college public," he stated.

He said "the House Committee on Public Accounts directed the Bursar to answer the query issued him and we were told that this was done with immidiate effect. The Bursar honoured his own part of the agreement while the Auditor General failed to honour the agreement."
