Local Government National Delegate Congress: Osun PDP Tasks Members On Significance Of Peaceful Exercise

Osun State PDP again welcomes distinguished party leaders who have been nominated by the National Working Committee of our party to conduct the national delegates congress in each of the 30 local governments and area council of Osun State today. This exercise is in preparation for the governorship primary election of our party coming on the 8th of March 2022 in line with extant rules and constitution of our great party. We wish to remind our teeming members on the need to accord the electoral Committee maximum cooperation needed for a successful exercisice. The committee is chaired by Senator Ahmed Maccido while Dr Abiye Sekibo serves as secretary. Leaders and critical Stakeholders of our party in all the 30 local governments are therefore directed to work with security agencies in their respective domains to ensure peace and avoid infiltration by unscrupulous agents spoiling to paint our party in bad light. Our party, under the Chairmanship of Hon Sunday Bisi wishes to assure the good people of Osun State of our commitment to a democratic and transparent selection process which we believe is essential panacea to open and responsive governance in our dear State. 

 Osun PDP hereby commends the peaceful nature with which our people have conducted themselves in the ongoing national delegates congress. Reports coming in from various local governments are indications of the fact that leaders and members of our great party are peace loving democrats who are ready to work with the good people of the state for total liberation. It is encouraging seeing our people working in line with guidelines rolled out by Secretary of the electoral panel, Dr Abiye Sekibo. 

The panel secretary had while meeting with stakeholders of the party and electoral officers at the state secretariat, asked them to adhere strictly with the guidelines without fear or favor. 

 

Fillers reaching the secretariat of the party suggests that the congress have started producing some of our reputable leaders and members as national delegates in many of the local governments. 

We congratulate these delegates for the overwhelming trust of the people in their capacities to represent them. Honorable Teslim Igbalaye emerged as winners in Osogbo alongside Mr Tafa Jimoh Akanmu who is the nominee of the persons living with disability in the local government, in line with guidelines for the Congress. Dr Muyiwa Oladimeji Also emerged in Olorunda local government with an overwhelming support of eligible members in the locality. Hon Wahab Arewa alongside Mr Oguntoyinbo Mutiu emerged as delegates in Ilesa West local government, while elder Peter Babalola came tops in Irewole local government. Mama Atinuke Oyawoye got the nod of party members in Egbedore local government alongside Mr Owaniyi Johnson as nominee persons living with disability. We are glad that other local governments are also on the verge of completing the absolutely peaceful exercise. Once again, we congratulate our party members for this feat even as the party inches towards the governorship primaries where a candidate would emerge among noble party men vying for the ticket.
