SRJ Has Made Farmers Millionaires - Osun AFAN President 

The President, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN Osun State Chapter, Alhaji Sulaiman Araokanmi has giving kudos to Senator Ajibola Basiru of Osun Central for keeping farmers at heart and holding them in high esteem.

Alhaji Araokanmi who led thousands of farmers in Osun Central to the empowerment programme organized by Senator Basiru for farmers gave the commendation at the programme. 

Alhaji Araokanmi who described Senator Ajibola Basiru as a highly intelligent and gifted politician pointed out that the Senator has made Osun maize farmers Millionaires from what he gave to them free of cost at the programme. 

The AFAN President explained that a bag of the treated maize given to any farmer covers an acre of farmland. According to the farmers' boss in the State, the maize from an acre of land gives four tonnes and a tonne sells for N210,000. This automatically translates to N840,000 from an acre of a treaded bag of maize.

He pointed out that each farmer went home with two bags. He said, "With this gesture, Senator Ajibola Basiru has made farmers in Osun Central millionaires. We cannot but appreciate him for this huge gesture at a time the finances and fortune of many farmers are nose diving due to the global effect of Covid-19 pandemic," Alhaji Araokanmi explained. 

He disclosed further that Senator Basiru gave to each farmer a herbicide ahead of planting and another chemical application just before fertilizer is applied. The AFAN President made it known that each farmer who is a beneficiary went home with items running to several thousands of naira.

Alhaji Sulaiman Araokanmi used the medium to urge farmers in Osun Central to reciprocate the gesture by mobilizing for the ruling All Progressives Congress in the coming and subsequent elections in the State, stressing that to whom much is given, much is expected.
