Leicester City Ashleigh Plumptre Completes International Switch, to play for Super Falcons

Leicester City defender, Ashleigh Plumptre has completed her international switch from England to Nigeria, thus making her officially eligible to play for the Super Falcons.

Plumptre was born in England to a Nigerian father and a British mother. She had played for the English national team at U15, U17, U19 and U23 levels before making the switch to Nigeria.

The completion of the switch was revealed by the Nigerian Football Federation, director of communication, Ademola Olajire, in an interview with BBC Africa.

Olajire said, "We are happy to receive Ashleigh's official clearance from Fifa.  It was only possible because of her commitment and dedication. She made the federation's work a lot easier by providing all the requirements in quick time.”
