Ile-Ife Federal Constituency declares support to re-election of Governor Oyetola... as the Governor says he is not afraid about his second term bid

People of Ile-Ife Federal Constituency comprising of Modakeke, Ife East and Ife Central local governments have declared their support to the re-election of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.


This is as Governor Oyetola who was awed by the solidarity displayed by the people, said that he is not afraid of any challenges around his second term bid.


     According to the Governor, "the turnout in Ife district is an indication and show of sincerity of purpose by the people, it shows they have interest in me and that I have met their expectations, it shows I have passed and I have their support".


      This was the scenario at the event "I have  you in mind: Strategic Engagement programme", which held at St Stephens 'B' Primary School, Modakeke-Ife and Enuwa  square in Ile-Ife respectively.   

      Governor Oyetola applauded the people of the constituent for their patience during the construction of the Famia-Modakeke Road which had been neglected for years, but recently reconstructed under his administration. He further assured them of more infrastructural developments in the zone and across the state.


     The number one citizen who expressed his delight at the positive vibes showed by the people of the federal constituency also gave his gratitude to the people for their unflinching support during the 2018 gubernatorial election.  He then used the occasion to declare his intention to vie for the second term as  Osun Governor again, saying he is not afraid of any challenges that he might encounter on the coming election. "I have your support and I know you will support me to the end", he stated.


    Governor Oyetola also used the medium to urge the people to keep their voters cards handy pending the decision on the type of primary election to be conducted which he said could be either direct or indirect as well as consensus. He acknowledged the words of the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Moses Oladejo Oyediran saying it shows honesty and sincerity personified.


   He applauded  Modakeke and Ile-Ife communities for their peaceful coexistence tasking them for more calm and cooperation. He maintained that his administration will ensure more appointments and also provide additional infrastructures for the benefit of the people of the area.


      In their separate remarks, the former Senate member in the constituency, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and the Oluomo of Modakeke land Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, applauded the people for making themselves available for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. They also pointed out that one of the major roads which used to be a challenge to the community have been sorted out by Governor Oyetola.


     They further pledged the continued support of the people of the constituent to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, noting that they will not shy away from the promise of re-electing him for Governor come July 16, 2022.


     Also, in his remarks, the Osun All Progressives Congress Party State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun appreciated the people for their presence at the programme. He appealed to everyone to settle their differences and work in unity.

The organizer of the programme, who is the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Political Affairs, Hon Sunday Akere while also speaking at the programme said that the tour is to appreciate the people of Modakeke and Ile-Ife for their unflinching support to the government of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.


He added that the various projects carried out and completed by his administration is a testament that his government has done well. He therefore promised that the Governor will not relent in his efforts at giving good governance to all and sundry during his continuity as the Governor of the state for the second term, Akere stated.


The strategic engagement programme was well attended by top government officials and political functionaries among others.
