The only treasure cherished by people in position of authority is a remarkable day like this. A day of joy, triumph and great accomplishments, as the fourth substantive Rector of The Federal Polytechnic Offa. Dr. Lateef Olatunji ends  his tenure successfully. Of course, one thing is to start well and another is to end well. Many great leaders are always worrisome of the day their tenure will elapse and see what people will say about them. Today, Dr. Lateef Olatunji has been venerated as a leader, a doyen administrator and a man of all seasons. What a great honour, privilege, bestowed on the Dr. Olatunji with series of send forth programs organized for him. It was Five years of applause.

Down to the memory lane, Dr. Olatunji was appointed in the year 2017 as the fourth substantive rector of the institution. Within this period of great accomplishment. The first achievement recorded by Dr. Olatunji  is the rare privilege of being alive.  The gift of life, health and strength have made other achievements to be recorded  successfully in a single term.

The era of Dr. Olatunji has traversed the Polytechnic rank from behind to number 8th position among all the Polytechnics in Nigeria. As third generation Polytechnic, FEDPOFFA was ranked above many first generation Polytechnics in Nigeria. Similarly, the Polytechnic under the reign of Dr. Olatunji was ranked best affiliate institution by NUC, a remarkable and enviable feats among other institutions running affiliate programs.

As matter of fact, the essence of academic institution is to run a quality, approved, accredited programs. Dr. Olatunji's tenure has given birth to more accredited academic programmes. Today, the Federal Polytechnic Offa can boast of all her programs accredited. 

Dr Olatunji provided a condusive environment for academic to blossom, little wonder that his era saw an astronomical increase in the number of PhD holders in the Polytechnic, that the Polytechnic became one of the top Polytechnic in Nigeria with the highest number of PhD holders. The thesis of two of the staff were converted to textbook for use in all tertiary institutions in Nigeria by TETfund.

Going further, this icon has record of uninterrupted academic calendar for the period of five years; this certified to the level of peaceful and harmonious coexistence among management, staff and students in the Polytechnic. It has also labelled the Polytechnic as the most sought after for four consecutive years according to Jamb ranking.

Conspicuously, Dr. Olatunji's physical projects in the Polytechnic are visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. The administrative block extension which housed large capacity board room and befitting office for the new Chief executive is commendable. The New Accountancy building, Business Administration Building, Science Laboratory Technology and Hospitality and Hotel Management Buildings speak volume of milestone achievement within a single tenure.

How many of Adepele's multiple and interlock teeth could be counted among his social responsibilities and community services stride? 

It is an understatement to say that Dr Olatunji has taken The Federal Polytechnic Offa to the zenith of academic excellence.

Congratulations to Dr. Lateeef Ademola Olatunji, the most celebrated Rector in the history of The Federal Polytechnic Offa with about 10 befitting send forth programs. What a successful tenure of an icon. To be remembered for greatness, some moments in FEDPOFFA, a thousandfold of lifetime.
