BREAKING: Nigeria's Olubadan, ruler of Ibadan land, dies at 93
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, a foremost traditional ruler in Yorubaland, South Western Nigerian, Oba Saliu Adetunji, is dead.
The monarch died on Sunday, January 2, at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo state.
He was 93 years old.
Oba Adetunji inherited the Olubadan stool in 2016, becoming the 41st monarch of Ibadanland following the demise of his predecessor Samuel Odulana Odungade.
An official announcement of the Yoruba king's death is expected later.
