AREGBESOLA ELUCIDATES THE CONCEPT OF "PEOPLE FIRST" IN POLITICS ONCE AGAIN AS HE COMMISSIONS NIGERIA DIGITAL CENTRE, (NDC) ILESA.

The funfair, pomp and pageantry that greeted the activities that heralded the commissioning of Nigeria Digital Center at Ijesa Muslim Grammar School, Ilesa, laid credence to the fact that people's technological empowerment should always come into the fray in our clime before other infrastructural considerations.

After an elaborate interactive protocols of greetings of the diverse stakeholders from President Buhari, Hon. Minister Professor, Isa Ali Patanmi, of MCDE; Representative of State of Osun Governor, to the APC party leaders in Osun with an intermittent infusion of traditional music by Disc joker and Oranmiyan drummers, he canvassed the essence of digitalization of every form of vocation through the application of ICT in the nearest future.

Before making his speech in that auspicious occasion, the body language perspective as bonafide Ijesa man came to the fore. As he said, as an Ijesa man, all his ancestors, forebears and parents were Ijesa people, the reason why he needed to technologically empower his people. This is also in conjunction with Hon.Minister Patanmi, of MCDE; under the supervision of President Muhammad Buhari. The earth breaking facilitator of the project, through the USPF of the NCC, under the ministry of Communication and Digital Economy ; the beneficiary –The Principal, Staff and Students of the school were not left out. 

He also made it abundantly clear that  the fragmentation which the APC Osun has been grappling with regarding the factionalization of the party hierarchy into what it has been, has informed his resolve to be the ultimate and the  unrepentant supporter of the other APC faction founded by "TOP". This declaration laid to rest the insinuations of mischief-makers that he may not be supporting the activities of the group "TOP" in Osun.

Ogbeni in his witty presentation in one of his phrases said, "The project will promote the availability and utilisation of ICT and resources of the Internet in teaching and learning in public schools in underserved, unserved and rural areas". 

He said "Digital Nigeria Centre has been designed to promote the connection of public secondary schools to broadband internet in Ilesa community, and the goal is to equip beneficiaries with 21st Century skills". 

Ogbeni also announced the establishment of President Muhammadu Buhari N100 million Technology Empowerment Fund to create world class technology experts, targeting 2000 youths in the next two years in Ijesaland who will be provided with devices for training in different areas such as software development and design, amongst others.

While spelling out the bottom line advantages of this project, he said vocational professionals should brace up to this opportunity of learning ICT as even Automotive Mechanics and some other professionals will not be able to work while several other people might have availed themselves of the opportunity in the future. 

Even motor vehicles will no longer be dependent on fuel as all components of the motor would have been digitalized and be electrically operated. 

He admonished the politicians to remain steadfast in their quest for power as only those who do not sit on the fence will get to the land of fulfillment. He was later escorted by dignitaries, illustrious sons and daughters of Osun from all walks of life, Top members, the members of the G 21, members of other political and non-political groups with politicians, conventional and non- conventional security agencies witness the occasion.
