Senator reiterates Human Capital Development as Core Priority ...as 266 Beneficiaries Receives Empowerment Materials......APC Chairman declares Osun Central the best out of Senatorial districts...

Senator Dr Ajibola Basiru, representing Osun Central Senatorial district has reiterated his commitment to human capital development as priority of his representation.

This is as Two hundred and Sixty Six (266) beneficiaries drawn from the ten local governments in Osun Central Senatorial district benefitted from the empowerment materials sponsored by Senator Ajibola Basiru, representing the Osun central.

At the program, the All Progressives Party Chairman, APC Prince Gboyega Famodun declared Osun Senatorial as the best and active district with high votes and performance among the senatorial districts in the state. 

Senator Dr Ajibola Basiru distributed the empowerment materials consisting of sewing machines, grinding machines, vulganizing machines, car washing machines, tricycles, and motorcycles to the beneficiaries in collaboration with Border Communities Development Agency BCDA 2021 capital projects, held at the Osun Central senatorial district constituency office in Osogbo.
According to the senator, the distribution of empowerment materials symbolizes quality representation of Osun Central in the Senate, he said the empowerment program is another landmark in the series of human capital development and empowerment which started in December 2019 after his inauguration into the Senate.

He reiterated that during his electioneering campaign where he made promises, he asserted that human capital development was his core priority for Osun central which is unique in several ways, among which is her pride of place at the seat of governance, as well as its being the melting point for economic activities in the state.

The Senator who is the Spokesperson at the 9th Senate restated that the welfare of the people and the upliftment of their standards of living, forms the pivot of his engagement with his constituents, he added that despite the worrisome global economy at present with the lingering Covid 19 pandemic, there is urgent need to empower people to diversify in line with current realities for continuous sustainability.

Declaring the empowerment of people as part of his stewardship, Dr Basiru said the empowerment is irrespective of party, tribe or religious affiliations, adding that it is with necessary tools to enhance the standard of living of the people through their various economic engagement horizon, to stimulate and entrench self sustainability with a view to minimizing the spread of unemployment and thereby reducing the spread of poverty in the state.

He added that the selected beneficiaries drawn from nooks and crannies of the Osun senatorial district include party members, market women association, widows association, Igbo community, Hausa community, Okada riders association, Professional Tailors association, Joint association of persons with disability among others. 

Dr Ajibola Basiru maintained that the aim of empowering the people was borne out of dire state of economy and the need for people to be able to fend for themselves without recourse or waiting on the government, and to make the people self reliant and entrench the culture of productivity which will contribute to the growth of National Gross Domestic products while also aiming for rural development both in capital and human resources.
Congratulating the beneficiaries and announcing that there is an upcoming empowerment program which will capture new beneficiaries, he urged them to use the materials judiciously, he went further to emphasize that the empowerment drive is also aimed at complementing the efforts of the state government under the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, at achieving good and appreciable standard of living for the people and most importantly, to safeguard and ensure human dignity by engaging in productive activities.

In his remarks the Osun Chairman of All Progressives Party, APC Prince Gboyega Famodun said Osun senatorial district is distinctive in nature, he said this was shown at the last election where the largest number of votes for governor Oyetola came from the district, he added that the Central did well more than Osun East and West.

Prince Famodun described Osun central as a unified district which supports the government, said it has good representatives particularly the representation of Osun Central people by Senator Ajibola Basiru, who he said lives an exemplary lifestyle that brought him to fore at the Senate.
He used the medium to urge all in the state to support the second term bid of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, and Senator Ajibola Basiru for their agenda for Governorship and the Senate respectively. 

Prince Famodun went further by calling out to everyone to believe God and Governor Oyetola, he added that a party last long when its candidate is at the helm of affairs, hence no need for variable in Osun APC, we are one big family - he stated. 

Other guests at the distribution of Empowerment materials program include: House member representing Osogbo state constituency Hon Taofeek Badamasi, Member representing Oriade state constituency Hon Desmond Ojo, Commissioner for Regional integration and Special duties Hon Lekan Badmus, Chairman Osun Health Insurance Scheme OHIS Hon Adeoye Adelakun, Iyaloja General Alhaja Awawu Asindemade, State Women Leader Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, party leaders, local governments chairmen in Osun central district, party stalwarts and a host of others.
