Oyetola reiterates commitment to stimulating Osun economy as 31,888 residents smile home with 636m CBN supported MSMEs soft loans

About Thirty One thousand, Eight Hundred and Eight (31,888) beneficiaries, who are residents of Osun state have benefited from the Six Hundred and Thirty-Six Million, One Hundred and Ninety-Five Thousand Naira (N636.195,000.00) Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)-supported Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMEs) soft loans.

In his remarks during the disbursement of the soft loans which took place at Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola reiterated his administrations  commitment at  ensuring that Osun economy is stimulated to an enviable degree.

Governor Oyetola said  the disbursement was made possible with the collaboration of Central Bank of Nigeria-supported Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, aimed at expanding the scope of businesses, trades and  investments to  galvanize the economy and reducing the scourge of unemployment in the State.

The soft loans were disbursed through Osun Micro Credit Agency to the beneficiaries selected from all the local governments in the state.

At the flag-off ceremony Governor Oyetola said the gesture was part of his resolve to build a virile and healthy economy for his state .

He maintained that his economic agenda is aimed at scaling up the ease-of-doing business in the State, stressing that the initiative would also go a long way in  resuscitating  moribund businesses and investments in the State.

Speaking further, the governor pointed out that the state had invested heavily in the economy as evidenced in the successes being recorded on a daily basis by his three year old Administration.
 
The Osun helmsman used the medium to appreciate Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) for its sustained partnership, which made it possible to empower many  business owners in the state.

Earlier in his remarks, Commissioner for Commerce, Industries, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, lauded Governor Oyetola for supporting the growth and development of businesses in the State. 

Dr Olanipekun added that the gesture would expand the scope of businesses in the state for the  beneficiaries.

The Acting General Manager, Osun Micro Credit Agency, Mr. Sanya Olopade in his remarks appreciated the state government of Osun particularly for being a solid pillar of support for the agency to soar higher and higher.

He urged the  beneficiaries to utilize the soft loans judiciously. 

Dignitaries at the flagging off ceremony included Hon Kunle Akande Majority Leader Osun State House of Assembly representing Osogbo state constituency, Secretary to the State Government Prince Wole Oyebamiji, the Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Deputy Chief of Staff Prince Binuyo Abdullahi, and Special Adviser to the  governor on Civic Engagement Hon Bosun Oyintiloye who was represented by Mrs Olabisi Bolarinwa among others.
