Emergence of Famodun is an endorsement of institutional memory - SRJ

The emergence of Prince Gboyega Famodun as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State has been described as a good step towards utilizing institutional memory for the success of the pareflection of the party in 2022. 

In a congratulatory message, Senator Ajibola Basiru who also served as the Chairman of Delta APC Congress Committee, said the overwhelming votes by over 1800 delegates to unanimously return Prince Famodun showed the trust the generality of the party leadership and membership have in him.

"Prince Gboyega Famodun has been able to hold the party together despite challenges which are not peculiar to APC. As a Chairman, he produced a Governor,Senators and Members of the House of Representatives. He has deployed the blue blood in him and brought it to bear in his leadership qualities. He deserved the victory."

Senator Basiru who supervised a smooth Congress in Delta State lauded Osun Committee headed by Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye and the organising committee and as well congratulated Mr Gboyega Oyetola for the huge success the Congress recorded in the State.

He called on all members of the APC to rally support for the new executives ahead of next year's governorship election for the party to be more firmly rooted in the State.

Prince Gboyega Famodun was the Secretary when the Progressives took over power in November 2010 and thereafter became the chairman who supervised the retention of power through the emergence of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in 2018.

According to the Senator, “Prince Famodun is a person I have worked closely with on party matters and I know he will spare no effort in steering the ship of the party to success in subsequent elections” 

Dr Basiru also congratulated all other members of the newly elected State Executive Committee of the party and urged them to work assiduously to strengthen the party.
