Ajegunle Trades Men And Artisans Re-elect Executives Without Rancour
Ajegunle Trades Men and Artisans in Osogbo, capital of the state of Osun, recently, re-elected, Alh. Azeez Kamorudeen, as chairman of the market for another four years.
Speaking after the swearing in of the newly elected executives of the market, Alh. Kamorudeen promised to continue working towards the growth of the market.
He also appreciate Traders and Artisans at the market for their support during his first tenure and appealed to them to continue supporting him for the growth of the market.
He said, "I want to thank Almighty God for the opportunity giving to me to lead this people. I also appreciate traders at the market for the the trust bestowed on me to be their leader.
"I have a cordial relationship with my executives. We have the same vision for the market and we all work together to achieve our aims.
"We love and respect each other. Everyone of us work together and they for the growth of the market.
"There is also a peaceful relationship with traders and artisans of the market and I urged them to continue supporting us as they have been doing before, for the growth and development of the market".
Alh. Kamorudeen appeal to the state government to fulfil its promise to traders in the market.
"We ask for loans from the government and they promised to give us and we believe that it will be fulfilled before the Governor leaves office.
"We also appeal to the government to provide us with an easily accessable land which can be used in the future because this place is already full".
In his own words, Vice Chairman elect, Alh. Rasheed Adebisi aka Ore meji, appreciate customers at the market, and appeal to them to continue supporting and patronizing the market.
"We love our customers and we want them to love us also. We appeal to them not to take our money to Ibadan again. We are always ready to to satisfy them".
Alh. Adebisi also commended the general coordinators of the market for conducting a peaceful elections.
According to him, the elections was fair without any rancour and every member of the market accepted the result.
"In my years of experience, I have not encounter people like those who conduct the election that produce the executives of the market.
"This people are called general coordinators and they were just four in numbers. They conducted the elections with a clear mind and open hand.
"If Nigeria can emulate their strategies in conducting elections, things will be better. What they did was to ensure that every member of the market took part in the election and everyone was happy.
"Even after the election and swearing in, they give room for members who have one issue or the other about those elected to come forward but everyone said they are happy with the results".
In his remark, the chairman, general coordinators of the market, Alh. Popoola Rafiu said the election that brought in the executives went peacefully without any issue.
"We thank God for the success of the elections. What we did is that we give people interest and nomination forms and after collating everything, those who had the highest votes were declared winners.
"In our constitution, there is chance for second term and people re-elected them because during their first term, there were lots of development in the market and we want that to continue.
"The nomination and election process went peacefully and there is no problem after the election".
Other executives elected are; Mr. Tijani Nafiu, secretary, Mr. Jimoh Alade, Treasurer, Alh. Olabiyi Morufu, Fin. Sec., Mrs. Abayomi Gbemisola, Social welfare.
