MINISTER FLAGS-OFF RECOMMENCEMENT OF CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER PAYMENT TO BENEFICIARIES

Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Faroq Shadiya has flagged off the recommencement of Conditional Cash Transfer CCT payment to beneficiaries in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun

The Minister at the Programme which comprises of beneficiaries in Osogbo and Obokun local governments, congratulated the beneficiaries on the new modalities which will make the collection of monthly social intervention support easy.

The Humanitarian Affairs Minister represented by Hajiya Halima Sheu, the National Coordinator of the CCT programme urged the beneficiaries to appreciate the governments at all levels for the vulnerable friendly policies made, both at the federal and state level.

She added that APC government under the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari and Osun Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring provision of support and infrastructures respectively.

 In his remark, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Social Intervention Programmes Hon Lukman Bello reiterated that the people of the state will continue to enjoy the government of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and President Mohammadu Buhari in their various capacities.

Hon. Lukman Abimbola Bello said the recommencement  of the CCT payment will be available to all beneficiaries across local governments in the state, he added that Osun state have 15,562 vulnerables as beneficiaries drawn from all local governments in Osun including Modakeke area office, selected based on the World Bank register.

He added that Osun government has other social intervention programs for vulnerables in the state, all made available to the people without the interference from any quarters. 

Hon. Lukman who is also the Osun State Focal Person on National Social Investment Programme said the laudable initiative of Conditional Cash Transfer payment now made available with usage of Smart-Card will be monitored to reach the target objective. 

Highlight of the program was the distribution of the Conditional Cash Transfer Payment and Card distribution to beneficiaries at Osogbo Local Government, venue of the falg-off program.

In his remarks, Osogbo Local government Chairman Hon. Saheed Onibonokuta appreciated the governments of President Mohammadu Buhari and Osun Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the sustenance of the CCT Social Intervention program.

He called on the beneficiaries to complement the gesture by supporting APC led government, particularly the upcoming Osun Gubernatorial election, in which Governor Oyetola is running for second term. 

Other dignitaries at the Programme include: Osogbo South LCDA Chairman Hon. Mrs. Bolaji Jimoh, Osogbo West LCDA Chairman Hon. Olaniyan Ademola, Obokun East LCDA Chairman Hon. Bello Saliu Bamidele and Chairman Obokun local government Hon. Engr. Ogundipe Maroof among others.
