Osun Court Remands Lady For Allegedly Stabbing Lover

An Osogbo magistrate’s court in the State of Osun has ordered the remand of a 27-year-old lady, Amaka Anyanwu, at the Ilesa Correctional Centre for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Mathew Omotoso. 
Amaka was said to have stabbed her boyfriend with knife in his house at Olude area, Osogbo.
According to the Police prosecutor, Mr. John Idoko, Anyanwu, on June 30, 2021, at about 2AM, at Femi Daramola Street, Housing Estate, Olude Area, Osogbo, unlawfully stabbed one Omotoso with knife severally on his back. 
Idoko said Anyanwu wilfully and unlawfully damaged Omotoso’s plasma television, two wristwatches, chairs and one iPhone 8, all valued at N412, 000. 
He said the accused person committed an offence punishable under Section 355 and 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
But Anyanwu pleaded not guilty to the allegations proffered against her. 
Defence counsel, Mr. Sunday Atofarati applied for the bail of the accused person in the most liberal term, saying that she will be available to stand her trial.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. Adekanmi Adebayo, remanded the accused person in Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till August 7, 2021 for ruling on bail.
