OSUN NAWOJ PRAYS FOR NIGERIA

It was a Wonderful moment in the presence of God as Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ joined its counterparts in Nigeria to pray for the country on insecurity challenges.

The Prayer meeting which kicked off at noon on Tuesday May 11, had the Women Journalists, Christian women and non governmental organization as well as One Community One industry in attendance. 

At the Programme tagged "O God, Heal Our Land", the opening prayer was made by the former National Auditor of the association, Mrs Adesola Jacobs, the Muslim Prayer was led by Alhaja Aminat Adebare, the Christian prayer was led by Former Nawoj state Chairperson Mrs Olusayo Babatunde, and Evangelist Modupe Bajesude also ministered. 

The State Chairperson Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo in her address said the call to prayer is as a result of rate of insecurity rampaging the nation, she said Nigeria has come to a point that Divine intervention is needed.

The National Zonal Secretary B-Zone Comrade Funmi Adekoya in her remarks said the Solemn Assembly declared by the National body of the association is organized in the 36-states of the federation. She encouraged the women not to relent in seeking God's face at all times, added that Nigeria needs us to intercede for it to heal.

The CEO One Community One industry, Ms Victoria Oluwaseun charged the women to ask God to arise and have mercy, she pointed out that each woman represent a community, and the wellness of a community is the wellness on all communities.

At the prayer meeting which held at the Osun NUJ Press Center in Osogbo, the council Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu commended the women Journalists for coming together to raise their voices to God Almighty.

He urged Nigerians not to rest on their oars, but continue to beseech God to deliver Nigeria and protect the masses, and to guide the country in the right part.

The gathering where the dress code for the female Journalists was red or touch of red, attracted female Journalists from chapels in Osun such as Ministry of Information, Osun state Broadcasting Corporation OSBC, Federal Ministry of Information, Correspondence Chapel, Federated chapel and National Orientation Agency among others.
