Osun Deity: Reason Why The River goddess Doesn't Appear Again During Her Festive Period

Osun deity is a very powerful and well famous god among the gods in Yoruba land. It is even revealed that some countries in the north America do worship the river goddess.

 Countries like Cuba and some part in Brazil have the sound worshippers that practice the way of the osun just like her worshippers do here in Nigeria most especially in Osogbo which is the capital of Osun sate.

According to history been told by the worshippers that in the olden days, the river goddess usually come out of the river to bless those who troop out in large numbers to come worship and receive blessing from the goddess.

That's how many people of the olden days knows how the deity looks like with some describing her as a dark skin beautiful woman with long hair and large breasts. 

Even though she's not wholly human, she's half human and half fish. They still describe her a beauty that can never be resisted.

The river goddess is also portrayed as a loving deity that love his worshippers and those that seek help from her. 

Many people come to the goddess to request for the fruit of womb, riches and many other good things. During the time of war in osogbo where they believe that it's the source of the goddess.

 The river goddess defended the people of osogbo from the Fulani invaders as she charmed them all and caused them to sleep to death.

As time goes on, the power of the of goddess is know out of the shores of the Yoruba land and even Nigeria.

 The whites have known about how powerful and caring the goddess is and loads of people from all works of life usually come when it's festive period to worship the goddess.

The real reason why the goddess refuse to come to the surface of the river is because as many foreigners came every year, many of them have tried to capture the river goddess taking various kind of tactics which of them is taking her picture and revealed it to the world. 

And as we all know that this creatures don't like expose theirselves to modernization.

This is why the goddess have not been coming out again to heel worshippers but it is believed that the goddess appear to the iya osun which is the river goddess paramount worshipper and deliver any message she want her to deliver to the sound worshippers.

I believe we all know why the river goddess didn't come to the surface anymore.
