Re:- Oyes Cadets Protest Non-payment Of Five Months Salaries in Osun, The True Story;

Our attention has been drawn to the news published by an online medium that Cadets of Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) were protesting non payment of five months Salaries.

The publication is false in its entirety because Osun government is not owing any bonafide cadet, as monthly allowances has been paid up to date.

The few Cadets  who were seen at the OYES headquarters in Osogbo were duly invited by the OYES Commandantè to explain why they have not been reporting for duties, and other disciplinary issues including their failure to participate in the verification exercise mandated by the state Government in May.

According to the OYES Commandantè Col EniIbukun Oyewole rtd, some of the affected Cadets have not reported to their duty post for up to 5 months citing different unacceptable reasons for negligence of duties and non submission of monthly clearance among others.

He added that each Cadet was later interviewed and were confronted with records to show they have not been working. It must be noted that credo of the OYES is No work, No pay.

It must be noted that some of the affected Cadets were for no tangible reason unavailable for the verification exercise ordered by the state government in May, 2020.

The affected Cadets, while apologizing to the Commandantè to temper justice with mercy by forgiving them, admitted their flaws and promised to return back to their duty posts immediately, as well as cooperate with their mentors, follow all laid down rules and regulations in order to justify their continued stay in the scheme.

Members of the public are hereby urged to disregard the blatant lies emanating from faceless few, rather, Osun government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola should be commended for not reneging on his promise to put smile on the faces of all hard work cadets by paying their allowances as at when due.

Col OYEWOLE, however promised to look into the cases of those who have promised to turn a new leaf and present their matters to the government for consideration.
