LOCKDOWN PALLIATIVES: OSUN AGRIC COMMMSIONER LAUDS OLAM INDUSTRIES

State of Osun Commissioner for Agric and Food security, Adedayo Adewole has commended OLAM Industries Nigeria LTD over the donation of Palliative to the state as a contribution of the company's quota towards cushioning the harsh effect of COVID 19 lockdown in the state.

The Commissioner gave the commendation while receiving the Relief items from the company on behalf of the state Government at the OSICOL ware house in Osogbo.

Hon Adewole who clarified that the donated items which include two trailer loads of indomie noodles, face masks and sanitizers were not part of the Palliative provided by the 21 Man Food and Relief Committee, stated that OLAM company has demonstrated an appreciation by giving back to the state for choosing to partner the Company via the Ministry of Agriculture and Food security.

He used the occasion to urge other corporate bodies, organisations and well-to-do individuals to emulate the good gesture of OLAM Industries, charging citizens not to relent in adhering strictly to the precautions against the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Speaking earlier, the State of Osun Branch Controller of OLAM Industries, Mr Bhawani Singh, applauded the administration for fighting the spread of COVID 19 tooth and nail and for setting up a 21 Man Food and Relief Committee to combat the hardship of lockdown.

He urged the good people of Osun State to always observe social distancing,use sanitizers and face masks.

Mr Bhawani also added that the government, people and companies should work together to fight and curb the spread of COVID 19 in the State and Nigeria at large.

Speaking at  the occasion, Commissioner for Health Dr Rafiu Isamotu who was in company of the Director, Primary Health Care and Disease Control ,Dr Gbenga Adepoju, said he was at the occasion to receive the sanitizers and facemasks donated by the company for the use of frontline health workers and members of the State Tasks force Committee on COVID-19.

He urged citizens to continue obeying the lockdown rules as well as the precautions against the spread of COVID 19 in the state.
