NGO Donates Palliatives to Vulnerables in Osun Local Governments

Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI, a Non-Governmental Organization has donated palliatives to about One thousand women and Vulnerable in local governments in the State of Osun.

This is targeted towards cushioning the effect of stay home order of the government because of pandemic Coronavirus known as Covid 19, which had kept everyone on it toes thereby leaving people hungry, particularly women and other Vulnerable such as Persons with Disabilities.


In his welcome address, the Executive Director Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI, Mr Aremu Stephen Akinyele stated that the government alone cannot handle the overwhelming demand for palliatives for the needy in the society and state at large, hence HFDI rising to the call in the discharge of Its humanitarian services of saving lives and protecting women, children, Vulnerable, persons with disabilities among others.

At the distribution programme of items such as rice, cassava flakes, beans flour, tomoto sachets, semovita, sphagetti, sachets of sugar, vitamin supplements among others, which held at Osogbo, Olorunda, Ede North, Ede South, Irepodun and Oriade local governments, Aremu stated that the Non-Governmental Organization took up the task which the organization is known for, because of its compassion on the category of people who needs such help at this period.


The Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning Manager Mrs Aanuoluwapo Odedeji in her remarks added that the humanitarian agency is known for its protection and providing techniques for women, Vulnerable and others, little wonder that it could not fold it's hand to watch the agony of hunger from people in this Coronavirus pandemic period, where the government had mandated lockdown to curtail the spread of the deadly disease.

She emphasized that there are more needy women and Vulnerable in the state, hence used the medium to call out to corporate bodies, individuals and philantropists to partner and support Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI in reaching other local governments areas in the state. 


Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, a person with Disabilities Ms Olayisade Adeola at Osogbo local government appreciated Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI for the steadfastness in helping women, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable in the state of Osun.


She used the medium to pray for the Non governmental organization and pleaded that more help is needed towards others of similar issue who are located in other parts of the state, added that hunger is not something good, because it can make one to fall sick or lead to death if help doesn't come in time.
