Group Takes Coronavirus Sensitization to Schools in Osun

In tandem with its objectives of working and protecting human right, and health of Children, Women and Youth development, Society For Life Changers and Good Parental Care (SoLife) has step up sensitization on Coronavirus also known as Convid 19 to schools in Osun State.

This is following the State government of Osun announcement on measures to residents that necessary machineries have been put in place to prevent the dreaded disease also known as COVID-19 from entering the state, though there's confirmed case of coronavirus in Lagos State.

SoLife started its sensitization at Sundest Nursery and Primary School, where the Pupils were taken through good personal hygiene and sanitation and also sensitized on the concept of Lassa fever and Corona viruses, with emphasis on regular and thorough washing of hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

SoLife which had seven other offices in four states of Nigeria such as Osun, Kwara, Oyo, and Akwa Ibom state lectured the school students on the prevention, causes and effects of being infected by the above viruses, to ensure safe healthcare practises to curb the spread of this deadly infection in particular.

Society For Life Changers and Good Parental Care SoLife also took the children through hand washing session were the pupils were taught how to wash their hands properly, and they urged the school to promote hand washing among the pupils by getting a hand wash basin or stand available to tlhe students in the school. 

In her sensitization talk, the Communication officer, Ms Damilola Jacobs informed the children that, though there is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) but one of the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. 

She listed the key ways as regular washing of hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, and she told the school children that If soap and water are not readily available, then they are to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Speaking further, she charged the Pupils to avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with dirty hands, avoid close contact with people who are sick, stay home or go to the hospital when you are sick, added that they should always cover coughing or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash, and in the event that they are provided facemask or nose guard, they should use it diligently to protect themselves and others.

Society for Life Changers and Good Parental Care SoLife uses the medium to call on developmental partners, donors, governments  and individuals to provide  resource for solife so that he can reach more people on sensitization and prevention of the COVID -19 in Osun state and other States in Nigeria.
