Governor Oyetola re-assures citizens on quality healthcare delivery

The Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has restated his commitment to deliver quality healthcare in the state.

The governor explained that since the inception of his administration, healthcare had continued to occupy the first position, after works and education, in terms of provision of infrastructure in the state.
He made the statement at Holiness estate, a community in Ejigbo Local Government Area of the state during an on-site assessment of a health centre which has for long been completed and awaiting commissioning.

The governor who spoke through his Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju and Special Adviser on Rural Development and Community Affairs, Engineer Mumini Olabamiji lauded the community for maintaining and protecting the facility from being looted years after it's completion, even as they called on other communities in the state to emulate them by seeing government properties in their domains as theirs.
Olamiju further said, "If you look at our capital projects, you will see that we are determined to expand the frontiers of healthcare delivery in the state. This is to ensure that infant mortality is reduced to the barest minimum.

“We are determined to providing free and quality healthcare to our people because Health-for-all is prime and that has been the reason behind the renovation and rehabilitation of 332 PHCs across the State.

"The closest health centre to this community is about 5 kilometres away, which makes it so paramount for us to make this place functional. We'll find out more about the project and by the grace of God we will complete, equip and commission this facility so that the health of everyone in/out of this community would be guaranteed, he concluded.

Earlier, the Chairman of the community, Elder John Okedoye while taking the government representatives round the facility pleaded that the health centre as grandiose as it is should not be left utilised.

"We're very happy that government expedited action promptly and confident there is hope that what we yearn and long for will come to fruition", he said.
