NGO Partners on Distribution of Vitamin A, others

Hope For Family Development Initiative HFDI, a Non-Governmental Organization has partnered Kwara and Osun governments and another non-governmental Organization in Akwa-Ibom State as the selected sole distributor of Vitamin A and Deworming tablets to children in the states.
The partnership meeting which was effected through the state Ministry of Health and Osun Health Care Development Board, which held in each state had the Country Program Officer of Vitamins Angel and the Program Manager Accelerating Nutrition Result in Nigeria (ANRIN), a world Bank project on Nutrition  and it's team members, including the Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research(CCCRN) team.

According to the Executive Director Hope for Family Development and Initiative HFDI, Mr Aremu Stephen Akinyele, the purpose of the meeting was to work hand in hand with the state governments in Kwara and Osun state, and to strengthen existing partnership with the Center for Clinical and Clinical Research in Akwa-Ibom state on the Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA LOT 1) for provision of commodities such as deworming tablets, vitamin A and Ready-To-Use Therapeutic food for children and multivitamins for pregnant women, to effectively implement the distribution of health care and nutritional commodities to all at grassroot areas in the states.
The partnership he said, is in collaboration with non-state actors (NGOs) and others. He added that Committee on Monitoring and Evaluation has been formed to serve as watchdog to the progress of the project.

The Executive Director also emphasized on the need for team work, which he said is a necessary tool. 

In Osun State, the US based Vitamin Angel through its Program Officer, Mrs Abiola Akanni announced that the NGO has decided to increase the commodities for Osun state, and she added that Hope for Family Development and Initiative HFDI will be the sole distributor for these commodities across Osun.
The Country Project Officer for Vitamins Angels, also appreciated Hope for Family Development and Initiative for it's health concerns and Intervention to all categories of women and children irrespective of class or strata, adding that the government is also commended for making available a conducive environment. 
Other stakeholders at the meeting included Youth Advocacy Health Fund, Kwara state Primary Health Care Development Agency and State Ministry of Health among others.
