Stand Up And Embrace Development, VP Osinbajo's Wife and Osun First Lady Charge Women.

The wife of Nigerias' Vice President Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo made the charge in her remarks as the Special Guest of Honour at the Osun Women Development Association (OSUNWA), National Women Conference 2019 themed: WOMAN; Pioneer of Change for Inclusive Participation in Development, organized by the office of the wife of Osun Governor Mrs Kafayat Oyetola.
At the second edition of OSUNWA which included first ladies of states in the south west zone, held at Aurora event centre in Osogbo the state capital, Mrs Osinbajo urged women to support each other by working together and standing up for each other in time of challenges, adding that women are created by God as strong specie, hence they shouldn't allow themselves to be relegated to the background in developmental programmes.In his Goodwill message, the Patron (Governor state of Osun) and the Chief host, Governor Gboyega Oyetola maintained that 'the strength and value of the OSUNWA conference is in its regular and consistent hosting to address issues that are Central to sustainable development, which its regular developmental counsel and recommendation to achieve it's set goal is important to the nation'.

Governor Oyetola added that 'the theme of the conference "Woman, Pioneer of Change for Inclusive Participation in Development" is beneficial to both the women and the nation, as an ample for women in the south west zone to mobilize and galvanize themselves into a formidable group for equitable and inclusive participation in nation building'.

Speaking further he said, 'women across the world are noted to be great managers of men and resources, and indispensable supporters of successful ventures, that strength of a nation emanates from families where mothers imbibe character and zeal as nation builders'.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola affirmed that 'Osun state is a gender sensitive state conscious of the rights, capacity and welfare of women, that the state first lady is an active mobilizer of women for development of the state working assiduously in promoting education of the girl child, and participation of women in politics, agriculture, business and other spheres of development'.He announced that 'in our ten months in office, we have given loans to women to float small scale businesses especially in agriculture to reposition them for self and societal development, added that Osun enjoys the contributions, cooperation and capacity of women in position of leadership, using them as a point of contact to other women to equitably contribute to governance and development'.In her welcome address, the OSUNWA Chairperson, the wife of the Governor State of Osun, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola affirmed that 'OSUNWA was formed with the main objective of providing a rallying platform for the wives of government officials and women in our State, to compliment the development efforts of the State Government, that between last year and today, the Association has registered its footprints on the development profile of the State'.

She appreciated the wife of the Vice President of Nigeria,  Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo, for constantly demonstrating her support for her and Osun people, remarked that due to her depth of love, she was here in Osun in February 2018 to speak to us and declare open the maiden edition of this National Women’s Conference. 'I thank you very much Your Excellency for your affection for the women in Osun by accepting our invitation when we came to you again this year', she stated.

Mrs Kafayat Oyetola also appreciated the first ladies of Ekiti state Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Lagos State Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwoolu, Ogun state Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, Kwara state Mrs Olufolake Abdulrasaq, and Ondo state first lady represented by it's Commissioner for women affairs Mrs Dickson Adeyemi.

Dignitaries at the Osun Women Development Association (OSUNWA), National Women's Conference 2019 included the Special Guest of Honour, Ogun state Governor Dapo Abiodun represented by Ogun state Secretary to the Government Mr Olatokunbo Joseph Talabi, Osun Deputy Governor Benedict Alabi and his wife, Osun Speaker Rt Hon Timothy Owoeye, and other top government functionaries.Others are Osun jugdes, Osun Commissioner and Special Adviser nominees, wives of state officials from Osun, Ekiti, Lagos, Ondo, Kwara, and Ogun state, Wives of service commanders, women from local governments in the state, non governmental organizations and market women among others.
