You Are Not Ready For Governance, PDP Tells Oyetola

Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Monday said Governor Oyetola should be more concern about governance now, rather than dreaming of perpetrating his party in power beyond his tenure.

The party, in a statement signed by its chairman, Mr. Soji Adagunodo, while reacting to a statement credited to Governor Oyetola at a bounquet organised for him and his predecessor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, in Osogbo during the weekend, said judgement of the Supreme Court never said Oyetola won the poll.

The statement insisted that Lagos template would not work in Osun state, saying Governor Oyetola knew he did not win governorship election in the state.

The opposition party said since becoming governor, all the state had seen was false moves and governance at standstill.

"Flood ravaged Osun recently, people are complaining that their governor is not visible almost one year after take over reins. We think Oyetola should be more concerned about how he would convince people by providing better living than boasting about years to come.

"His conscience is troubling him, hence the need to suppress it with false hope. The result of the last election showed almost 70% of Osun voters rejected Oyetola. if it is not out of ignorance, then he must have spoken out of mischief.

"In saner climes, Oyetola will be busy working to convince the electorates, but since he lacked legitimacy, he is struggling to name commissioners because he is aware members of his party don't even trust him.

"Governors who came after Oyetola have nominated commissioners and in 100 days achieved more, our own governor is more concerned about elections in 2022 since good governance is not on his agenda", the statement concluded.
